Family Auction

One thing to prepare for is our first family auction. We need families to donate items to be auctioned off. These items will be placed out for all to see and towards the end of the reunion we will hold an auction. Money will be raised for the next reunion. This money can be used for a reservation on a future reunion spot, pay for reunion food, or activities at the reunion. At my Larsen reunions we have held auctions the last 5 or 6 years and it has been very successful and helpful for the person who will be planning the reunion the next year. This last year we raised $425.00 and our family is much smaller than the Jones Family. My children save their money every year and are excited about bidding on things at the reunion. So think of things that you can contribute that wouldn't cost a lot of money to contribute. Here are some ideas of things that have sold at the Larsen Family Reunions:
Homemade cards
I made a jean blanket out of old jeans
Kim sold extra Mary Kay items and tupperware that she hadn't sold at parties
My sister-in-law auctioned off a family sitting with a certain amount of pictures (she is a professional photographer)
My brother actioned off a certain amount of hours to do landscaping for someone.
We had candy from Germany (My brother was stationed there)
My grandma auctioned off some of her plum jam that we all love (It went for $10.00 everyone wanted it.)
Home decor items
Extra family reunion shirts from past years

Just think about your family talents, look for good deals, and bring them to the reunion. If you have any questions just give us a call.
